We’ve successfully managed to get food stains on this new table runner in a short period of time, and I’m hoping future at-home dining experiences will bring even more character. Sometimes simple #knitting patterns are the most brilliant. And sometimes free patterns are the best ones. Check the link in my profile for the free pattern!
Hey, everyone! I’m hoping to become more involved in documenting my knitting experiences with this modest blog. As a somewhat new pattern reader/writer, this could be a fun, slightly comedic endeavor.
Thank goodness for ravelry. The website has allowed me to appreciate just how nerdy fiber arts is, and how complex. Permit me this moment, to share with you my most recent project come to life.
The pattern for my Mug Puff was fairly straightforward, and actually came into fruition rather effortlessly (compared to my other knitting patterns which sometimes take a year+). It is June. For me, knitting is a year-round 24/7 activity, and in fact, must be carried out more diligently during these months if you’re one of those people who is talented and selfless enough to give handmade goodies as holiday gifts. (Not me.)
But I have always been an advocate for killing the idea that knitting is only for winter. There are countless potential pieces that don’t belong to a season or climate, and I think this “mug sweater” thing is a good example.
I would also like to take this opportunity to point out that I’ve hit a milestone, and have officially been actively knitting for a decade, since age 21, around the time most people start, right? Throughout that decade I have not learned to crochet because I’m as loyal and stubborn as…. I don’t know something loyal and stubborn. But I am open to the craft. I’ve just been having too much fun with my two (or more) pointed needles.
The object of this blogging challenge is to record details about patterns I’ve written, other people’s patterns I’m attempting, and many progress photos. My hope is to ultimately share ideas with others, even if it takes 100 posts to be effective.
Note: My posts may contain strong language. I’m full of knitting fails and proud of it, but beware these fails may result in a temperamental 5′2 firecracker.
It may be mild in #EasternWashington but the knitting game is still strong. Especially when you’re knitting sweaters for inanimate objects. My #MugPuff pattern is now available for purchase on my ravelry. Link in bio if you want to try! •

I love when I knit something I actually can’t wait to use. This is a “ceramic” bowl pattern I came up with to store little trinkets. Inside are jewelry items from my Grandma, my mom and some of my own. The pattern link is in my profile!
And happy birthday, mom! 💚
And I finally finished my two-sided cable earwarmer pattern to stay cozy this winter in eastern Washington. This was NOT easy one to write. I have been working on this one for over a year now. 😅
The link is in my profile if you wish to attempt a reversible cable!
